Take Me To The River

"Rivers know this: there is no hurry. We shall get there someday."
The beginning of a new schools journey is just around the corner and the only way to take it is slow. Like a river it's going to take time, but as long as you know where you're going, do what's right to make it possible and stay your path, you're going to achieve your intended end.

Today was a great opportunity to take a moment and explore the city that holds much of my future. Just outside downtown was a small park that held wooden bridges, rocky paths, and great views. With the cool summer weather, for me an oxford is never a choice, its a must! A blue oxford is a staple and what's perfect is the versatility to be able to wear it with anything. A pair of spruce chinos was today's match and what I really enjoy about the combination is the fun, yet collected appearance it gives, while still being able to be different. To finish I add a pair of boat shoes, with my favorite pair of round specs for an effortlessly timeless look.

When In Doubt, Floral Out

Sunday, August 23, 2015 Unknown 2 Comments

It is thought that the first floral printed fabrics originated from the East, with ornate designs sold to Europeans at very high prices. To be able to wear these fabrics was a status symbol. Over time European manufacturers began to copy these fabrics to suit European tastes at a cheaper price.

Floral  is the perfect filler for a wardrobe full of block colors and stripes simply because it's unexpected. The vintage feel of a Hawaiian pattern can easily be dressed up combining with a pair of chinos and loafers for a night out or dressed down for a more casual approach with a pair of colored jeans and sneakers. A great piece for summer, a definite conversation starter at your next outing.
